Hello, I’m Apabrita

A space to explore, rewrite, and reclaim your story.

Apabrita is a narrative-humanistic psychotherapist, and drama & movement therapy facilitator whose work sits at the intersection of creative arts and mental health.

Grounded in a non-pathologising and strengths-based approach, she has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and young adults across therapeutic and community mental health settings, using play, movement, storytelling, and arts-based practices to support emotional expression and healing.

Her therapeutic practice draws from mind-body approaches, relational work, and trauma-informed care, grounded in narrative and humanistic frameworks through an eclectic, caste-sensitive, queer-affirmative lens.

Apabrita creates collaborative, compassionate, and attuned spaces where individuals can explore their stories, deepen self-understanding, and navigate challenges in ways that feel meaningful to them.

My story

Why I do this work

Before starting independent practice, I worked closely with survivors of gender and sexual violence as a child counsellor, and contributed to research focused on community-based mental health, neurodivergence, care systems, and social equity. These experiences continue to shape the way I show up in therapy: with curiosity, compassion, and deep respect for the complexity of people’s lives.

I believe healing happens when people have space to be fully themselves — without judgement, pressure, or the need to explain away their experiences. Therapy can offer a place to make sense of what you’ve been through, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward the life you want to build. My role is to walk alongside you, at a pace that feels right for you, while holding space for reflection, growth, and possibility.
